Wednesday: Creating
Today really was all about creating. I even pulled Kia out of school early so she could help me finish the work of decorating the children's room for our churches annual nativity exhibit. The focus for today's final day of decorating was making time to do the little touches and tidying the room for the exhibit that starts tomorrow. Kia spent the afternoon hanging tiny ornaments, setting up a few nativities and fussing with the garland around the room to get it just right. She was a great helper.
Later, I managed to slip a little package into her mailbox without her noticing. It was a simple little bag of horse shapes that I thought she'd enjoy. I imagine she'll glitter them, paint them, flock them or other such alteration project of the moment. We also picked up a set of 3 little light up pine trees for her room. After all the work at the nativity and the Christmasy feel in the church, she is chomping at the bit to decorate for Christmas around the house.
Sidenote:
Each day a tag like the one in the photo will accompany the package or instructions and on some-days it might be the entire delivery for the day. I have a ring for her to put them on each day and act as a keepsake for this years advent.
